【摘要】:Knowledgeofthewatercontentisimportantinlubrication,aslargeamountsofwatercancausecorrosionfatigueinsteelbearings,andthecompleteabsenceofwatercancausemetalscuffing.Highwatercontenthasanacceleratingeffectonoxidationoflubricants,andcanalsocontributetofoaming,especiallyathighaltitudeortemperature,orboth.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedureforestimatingtheequilibriumsolubilityofwateranditsvaporinhydrocarbonandaliphaticesterlubricants,attemperaturesbetween277and373K.Thetestmethodislimitedtoliquidsoflowtomoderatepolarityandhydrogenbonding,withpredictedsolubilitiesnotover1000ppmbyweightinhydrocarbons,or30000ppmbyweightinoxygenatedcompounds,at298K.1.2Specificallyexcludedareolefins,nitriles,nitrocompounds,andalcohols.1.3Thistestmethodisrecommendedonlyforliquidsnotcontainingwidelydifferentchemicalspecies.Thisexcludesblendsofesterswithhydrocarbons,andlubricantscontainingdetergents,dispersants,rustpreventives,orloadcarryingadditives.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
